You thought Cavalleria Events had shown their full hand for the year? Not quite. On 25 September 2026, the gates of Quantic from Bucharest, Romania open once more for Bucharest Prog Day II, now marked by the arrival of the Norwegian progressive metal band Green Carnation. And they come with grand designs, especially since on 3 April 2026 they will release their album “A Dark Poem, Part II: Sanguis” via Season of Mist.
Some things do not end when the lights go out; they wait, quiet and certain, for the next gathering.

Green Carnation, A Name Etched in Melancholia
The Norwegians do not trade in easy paths. From their earliest days under Tchort, their work has carried a deliberate sense of scale, nowhere clearer than in “Light of Day, Day of Darkness”, a single piece stretched across an hour, still spoken of with a certain caution. Now, the band advances the second chapter of “A Dark Poem”, with “A Dark Poem, Part II: Sanguis” set for release on 3 April 2026 via Season of Mist.
Current members, Bjorn Harstad [guitar], Stein Roger Sordal [bass] and Endre Kirkesola [keys, producer], alongside Kjetil Nordhus, had already been in the band’s line-up since 2001.
Vocalist Kjetil Nordhus, guiding the band’s voice through every shadowed passage, frames this next step as a descent into the most intimate corners of their own making, where nothing may be softened:
“We wanted «A Dark Poem» to begin with force. Judging by the reactions, «The Shores of Melancholia» achieved that objective. But for «Chapter II» we have some very personal stories that we want people to hear. «Sanguis» invites listeners into the darkest chambers of our souls, through some of the most raw and vulnerable pieces we have ever written.”
Bassist and principal lyricist of the band, Stein Roger Sordal, adds:
“The second part of «A Dark Poem» contains some of the most personal lyrics I have ever written. They are so personal that I struggled with whether to temper them or not. In the end, I chose to keep them as honest as possible. After all, I am growing older and I have some life experience to carry them.”
A taste of what awaits arrives in the form of “Sanguis”, the newest song premiered by Season of Mist on 4 February 2026.
The Second Gathering of Bucharest Prog Day
Bucharest Prog Day II continues a format set in motion the year prior. Conceived as a focused assembly for those drawn to progressive rock and metal, it resists excess and keeps to a defined line. The first edition gathered names such as Hippotraktor, Taine, Cosmin Lupu with his project, Calyces and Chaplin’s Dream, each offering a different contour of the style.
The second edition begins its roll call with Green Carnation, with further names yet to be disclosed. The structure remains intact: a single day, a controlled setting, a sequence of acts chosen not for breadth, but for coherence, according to Cavalleria Events.
Terms of Entry
Tickets have entered circulation through iaBilet network, with a presale set at 100 lei, rising to 130 lei on the day itself. A simple arrangement, without embellishment.
