As dust slowly sets on 2023 edition of Prague Death Mass, we are slowly recovering from this truly brain crushing experience.
The festival returned in 2023 after a 7 years absence, but again proved that it is an elite event long awaited by the international black metal community, as this 4th edition, same as the previous 3 ones was a sold-out event.
This year’s rituals transported the audience through years of black metal history, making them live or re-live the unrelenting atmosphere when first discovering the bands that played on stage.
With a solid line-up, every show in the 2 days of the festival delivered unrelenting performances and unforgettable imagery.
The highlights were (in yours truly humble opinion), Trondheim based MARE, New Zeeland’s DIOCLETIAN and of course the French guys of HELL MILITIA, all 3 bands delivering, as always, performances worthy of their cult status bands.
The best in show list could not be complete without mentioning the other much known and revered Norwegians of MISOTHEIST and DJEVEL as well as BAXAXAXA, MORTUARY DRAPE, BØLZER and DEAD CONGREGATION, bands that require no further introduction.
Not a single issue appeared during the 2 days, or if it did, it was not noticeable by the audience. I wish I could go deeper into details about every and each performance, but I will have to cut it short by mentioning the beer is cheap and the company of friends from all over the world is priceless, so I will leave you to enjoy the photo gallery, courtesy of @Fraufrostwind.
