Without further ado, we are pleased to announce that Venom, Persefone and the following five local acts are the final additions to Posada Rock Festival 2022: White Walls, Lupu’ cel Rau, Bucovina, Recycle Bin and Gunshee.
The festival will take place in Câmpulung Muscel, on the “Stadionul Munincipal” football stadium, between 2nd and 4th of September.
About the latest confirmed bands
Venom needs no introduction: hailing from the UK, they are an essential part of the history of New Wave of British Heavy Metal, as well as one of the forefathers of black metal as an entire genre. When he was in school in the 70’s, bassist and frontman Cronos dreamt of the ultimate band: a band more controversial than Black Sabbath, louder than Motörhead, with cooler pyrotechnics than Kiss and clad with more leather jackets than Judas Priest.
Their first records, Welcome to Hell (1981) and Black Metal (1982) have decisively influenced the inception of thrash metal, black metal, and, in general, the whole wave of extreme metal.
After 40 years of activity and 15 studio albums, Venom are still a force to be reckoned with on stage and they will prove just that during Posada Rock, where they’ll perform as the headliners of Friday, the 2nd of September.
Persefone is a band that put Andorra on the European metal maps. Formed 20 years ago in the small state thay lies between the French and Spanish borders, the band quickly surpassed their newcomer status, as they were quickly regarded as one of the most important prog bands in Europe.
Their new album Metanoia was released at the beginning of 2022 and it transports its listeners on a complex musical journey. It features a host of important special guests such as Einar Solberg from Leprous.
Persefone will play on the 2nd of September at Posada Rock, bringing to Câmpulung a progressive metal sound that is both modern and uplifting.
Cut from the same cloth as Persefone are White Walls, probably the best prog metal band in Romania right now. This year’s festival edition will mark their third show at this festival. This time, White Walls will present their most recent material, Grandeur – an album we strongly recommend, as it blew the crowds mind this year.
Bucovina needs no detailed introduction for the Romanian metalheads that are into folk metal specked with black and heavy metal. The outfit from Iasi are going to make their comeback at the festival with their iconic, energetic show.
Lupu’ cel Rau are going to perform for the first time at Posada Rock (even if some band members have already perfomed on the stage of Câmpulung with other projects). They will bring their party metal vibes, playing heavy metal with a modern twist.
Recycle Bin are also a premiere for the festival. This year they are celebrating 15 years of existence and they will surely be a breath of fresh air – they combine energetic and lively ska tunes with the punk aggression. One of the oldest punk bands in Romania, their addition to the lineup is welcomed alongside headliners such as The Exploited.
Gunshee is the band that won the grand prize last year at Posada’s band contest. They will hit the stage eager to prove that they deserved the jury’s votes. They describe their sound as instrumental prog rock.
Full lineup and the underground bands contest
These 7 new additions complete the existing lineup that includes: Paradise Lost, The Haunted, The Exploited and The Toy Dolls.
Apart from the performances mentioned above, the already established contest for undergorund bands will take place during the day. This is a contest meant to promote young and upcoming artists.
The ten bands that got selected for this year’s band contest are: Doomsday Astronaut, Exterminator, Magnetic,Mors Silens, Reverse The Moment, Taking Back August, The Hidden Jester, Unity of Opposites, Vorkuttah and Zgripsorum.

For those of you who have already purchased the ticket at the cost of 350 lei, you can request at the entrance a voucher with which you can purchase festival merchandize on site.
When we get closer to September, one day tickets will also be available. One day passes will be available online and at the door as well – but only if the festival does not become sold out.
Camping and other facilities
As always, Posada Rock offers free camping on the grounds of the stadium. The camping site is equipped with ecological toilets, running water and hot showers.
In addition, there will be a playground for children on the grounds of the festival, where different educational and fun activities will be organized.
Posada Rock Festival is organized by Asociatia Rock Culture in partnership with Câmpulung Muscel town hall – a priority project backed by the Ministry of Culture.
