Cult of Fire Through the Years
Prague’s Cult of Fire, active since 2010, combine atmospheric extreme metal with lyrical and visual concepts inspired by Hinduism, Vedic rituals and Buddhism. The Czech group released the full-length albums “Triumvirát” [2012], “मृत्यु का तापसी अनुध्यान” [2013], “Moksha” and “Nirvana” [both released in 2020], followed by the latest record, “The One, Who Is Made of Smoke” [2025].
The members of Cult of Fire are no strangers to the Romanian underground scene, having previously appeared at the inaugural edition of Underground for the Masses, where they shared the stage with Mork, Thy Light, Merrimack and several other names.
The Other Names on the Bill
German band Firtan, active since 2010, originated in the underground scene of Lörrach, Baden-Württemberg. Initially incorporating pagan metal elements, the band gradually moved towards black metal, with lyrics exploring despair, nature and philosophical themes. The discography comprises five full-length albums: “Niedergang” [2014], “Okeanos” [2018], “Marter” [2022], “Ethos” [2024] and the latest release, “Helios” [2026].
Meanwhile, Svartkonst, the blackened death metal project of multi-instrumentalist Rickard Törnqvist, began in the underground scene of Härnösand, Västernorrland, in 2012. Svartkonst released three full-length albums: “Devil’s Blood” [2018], “Black Waves” [2020] and “May the Night Fall” [2023].
