Welcome to the cretaceous period! If you have enough guts, come along for an exploration presented by the slamming beatdown deathcore band Bitter. Their debut EP, “Slamosaurus Rex“, just got released on September 1st 2026 through CDN Records. With slamming grooves and monstrous breakdowns, this release will show you the true might of the Slamosaurus.
I can honestly say that the creativity of this scene never stops surprising me. I discovered this band through a very… unique video of theirs on YouTube, and I felt the need to share this masterpiece with other people as well. Jokes aside, beyond this funny video lies a truly brutal sound, so I decided to give the whole EP a listen. All I can say is that “Slamosaurus Rex” is a really impressive debut for Bitter.

A prehistoric-sized avalanche of brutality
The EP begins fiercely with “Cretaceous Slaughter“, a track that feels like an all-out assault. You are introduced to a world that knows no mercy. Domination is the primal instinct of these bloodthirsty creatures. Prove your strength, or you will be torn apart.
If you’re not scared yet, then meet the first character of this story, “Krocoslam the Deceiver”. His presence is announced by relentlessly aggressive drums and guitars, accompanied by punishing gutturals will send shivers down your spine. The song feels unpredictable and ruthless, perfectly fitting the image of a world where only the strongest survive.
Now, take a deep breath and get ready to face the mighty Slamosaurus. “The Slamosasaurus Encounter” presents the protagonist of this EP as he takes on another dinosaur in battle, which might be Krocoslam the Deceiver. I have to say that this is the song that left me truly astonished. I loved everything about it, from the sheer brutality of the music to the creativity of the video. It really is something you don’t see every day.
“Mastication” might be my favorite song on this EP. It represents the aftermath of the previous battle, where Slamosaurus defeats Krocoslam before proceeding to devour him. Its slow and precise sound perfectly complements the gory nature of this act, making the grotesque imagery feel even more vivid. In this world, this is not something shocking. It is the natural order.
This story ends with “Extinction Level Event” Even the greatest brute force is worthless in the face of nature’s ultimate force. After all the battles, bloodshed, and displays of dominance, these mighty creatures are reminded that they are not invincible. In the end, nature shows no mercy and makes no exceptions.
About the band
Bitter is a Quebec-based slamming beatdown deathcore force that has been carving out their place in the extreme metal underground. Known for their unapologetically heavy sound, they draw influences from the most punishing corners of slam, beatdown, and deathcore while maintaining a strong emphasis on groove. With “Slamosaurus Rex“, Bitter captures their obsession with extreme music, delivering a sound that is deliberately physical, aggressive, and defiantly heavy.
