NEWS: Chapel of Rust Opens the TMLR Underground Live Series at Encore on 20 March 2026

From written lines to amplifiers and crowded rooms...

Some initiatives remain confined to the page. Others step beyond it and begin to breathe in crowded rooms thick with sound. On 20 March 2026, Thrash Metal Lyrics – Read carry their long-standing support for the underground from the digital sphere into the physical world with the first chapter of a new concert series: TMLR Underground Live I: Chapel of Rust, hosted at Encore Club, Bucharest, Romania.

The event signals a new step in the editorial collective’s efforts to support underground metal, both local and regional. What once existed through articles, interviews, and promotion now takes form as a live gathering, where thrash metal, atmospheric metal, hardcore, and their hybrid forms will share the same stage, according to the organisers.

The First Chapter Begins

TMLR Underground Live I: Chapel of Rust marks the opening entry in what is intended to become an ongoing concert series dedicated to underground acts, as stated by Thrash Metal Lyrics – Read. The organisers frame it as a direct extension of their editorial activity, an attempt to strengthen the community not only through words but through concerts where bands and audiences meet face to face.

The first chapter will take place on 20 March 2026 at Encore Club. The tickets can be found on IaBilet.

Where Four Acts Begin the Tale

Among the bands writing the first page of this series are Bulgaria’s HellbøunD. While the date of forming is not provided yet, we know that the group gained international attention after securing third place at the Wacken Metal Battle 2025 final.

Their music moves freely across subgenres of metal, an eclectic mixture the band themselves describe simply as “jumbish”. Rather than fitting within a strict stylistic framework, HellbøunD rely on energetic live performances and a fluid compositional approach that blends multiple influences into a restless, unpredictable sound.

Formed in Romania at the end of 2017, Váthos built their sound through a blend of atmospheric post-black metal and melodic death metal, enriched with influences drawn from several corners of extreme music.

The result is a balance between melodic structures and aggressive momentum that quickly defined the band’s identity. Within their second year of activity they appeared at Rockstadt Extreme Fest, and in 2024 their work received the “Best Music Video” award from the Cinema Odyssey Film Awards.

Silence is Violence bring a strain of Balkan hardcore shaped by directness and discipline. Their approach combines the intensity of hardcore with a metallic precision that sharpens the impact of their sound.

While the date of forming is not disclosed yet, we saw that the group places strong emphasis on visual presentation, treating each live appearance as both a musical and aesthetic statement. Their work remains firmly rooted in the underground, where authenticity and presence remain the essential currency.

Romanian thrash metal band Nihil are among the youngest names on the bill, having formed in 2023. Despite their short history, the band has already performed extensively across the country.

In 2025 they received the “Avangard” award at LaRock Music Festival. Their debut EP, “Declaration of Anger”, arrived on 1 December 2024, while a full-length album is currently planned for release in 2026. Although rooted primarily in thrash metal, the band continue to experiment with a wider palette of influences.

A Gathering for the Underground

With the first acts announced and a concept centred on live collaboration rather than distant promotion, TMLR Underground Live I: Chapel of Rust marks the next step in Thrash Metal Lyrics – Read’s evolution as a recurring platform for underground music.

The organisers’ message remains simple:

“The underground continues to exist because people show up.”
