Swedish black metal band Shining, led by Niklas Kvarforth, has announced two new albums, “Live in Transylvania” and “Beating Belgium Black and Blue”. These recordings, from 2009 and 2016, capture pivotal moments in the band’s history.
Reviving the Darkness
“Live in Transylvania” revisits a 2009 concert in Brașov, Romania featuring tracks such as “Eradication of the Condition“, “Yttligare Ett Steg Närmare Total Jävla Utfrysning” and “Submit to Self-Destruction“.

This isn’t the only offering from Kvarforth’s camp. “The Helsinki Tapes“—a collection of unheard “Redefining Darkness” demos—and “Feberdrömmar (Del Ett)“, an expanded reissue of “8 1/2“, have already surfaced. “Feberdrömmar (Del Två)“, promising five new tracks with unexpected guest vocalists, is on the horizon. Additionally, “When Prozac No Longer Helps” has been reissued in both 2024 and 2025 editions.
