A Legacy in Black Metal

Trånn’s influence extended beyond his role in Djevel. Over the years, he lent his talents to numerous projects, including Ljå, Neetzach, NettleCarrier, and Høstkæveld. His distinctive approach to songwriting and performance shaped the sound of modern Norwegian black metal, fusing the raw traditions of the genre with an evocative sense of melody. His contributions to Djevel spanned over a decade, with albums like “Dødssanger” (2011), “Saa raa og kald” (2015), and “Natt til ende” (2024), showcasing his mastery in shaping bleak and curious compositions.

Additionally, he played a key role in Lydia Laska‘s “White Trash Attack” EP, writing and performing on the track “Black Metal Robot Club“.

An Artist’s Enduring Footprint

Outside of his musical endeavors in Djevel, Trånn was married to fellow artist Lamia Vox, with whom he shared a deep creative connection, working together in Høstkæveld. He remained dedicated to his craft until his final days, leaving behind works that will continue to resonate in the underground. His presence in the scene was unmistakable, a bridge between tradition and evolution in black metal. With his passing, the genre loses one of its steadfast voices, but his contributions will not be forgotten. His work, his vision, and his spirit endure in the echoes of his recordings.
