Californian death metal band Cursed Bloodlines has released their second full-length album today, February 4th. Titled Virulent, the eleven track album displays an unrelenting force of brutal intensity, built around razor-sharp songwriting and a chaotic, carnivorous atmosphere. The raw production pulls listeners deep into the filthy, decayed realm of old-school death metal. Yet, the band’s vision is unwaveringly forward, focused on the horizon… However bleak and deranged it may appear. With brutal screams, hypnotic rhythms, and monstrous grooves, Virulent brings life to a zombified landscape of chaotic carnage.
Cursed Bloodlines crawled out of the Joshua Tree area of the high desert in Southern California in 2015. The band plays a type of extreme metal they describe as Poverty Metal. This eclectic style takes many different influences and converts them into music that is more of an ideal than a true sound. This ideal, about persevering through the tough circumstances that everyone faces and rising above it all through determination, grit, and hard work, is exemplified through their intense brand of death metal.
