Tragic and Umbersun are the latest bands confirmed for SoundArt Festival 2025, set to take place at Quantic on March 14-15. However, this edition of SoundArt kicks off on March 10 with the opening of the art exhibition featuring works by Dan Șerbănescu and Mihnea Badea.

SoundArt Festival returns with its most ambitious and complex edition yet. In 2025, the festival runs from March 10-16, expanding across multiple venues.
On March 13, the festival will take place at Control Club, where Dan Șerbănescu will perform with his project Alone in The Hollow Garden.
For March 14-15 at Quantic Club, organizers have announced the following bands: Villagers of Ioannina City (Greece), Bong-Ra (Netherlands), Five the Hierophant (UK), The Answer Lies in The Black Void (Hungary, Netherlands), Desert Monks (Greece), Obsolete Guns (Bulgaria), Hypnosaur (Poland), Beauty and the Rat (Romania), and Jahmolxes (Romania). Joining them are Tragic (Romania) and Umbersun (Romania).
On March 16, the audience is invited to Hidden – The Social Space for a concert by Amarthalos (Romania) and a reading night with Institutul Blecher. Entry to Hidden is free, with priority given to SoundArt Festival 2025 pass holders and Institutul Blecher members, subject to availability.
The organizers have designed the entire SoundArt Festival 2025 experience around the alchemic concept of Magnum Opus. Attendees will embark on an initiatory journey through the festival’s full range of activities and concerts, gradually recreating the stages of the Great Work of self-transmutation.

Tragic – doom/stoner/psychedelic, Romania
Born in 2007, Tragic has built its musical evolution on introspective experimentation, shaping the artistic growth of its members. Unbound by predefined genres, the band has carved out its own unique style—tragic metal, a fusion of doom, stoner, psychedelic, and core elements. Their music blends captivating melodies, powerful vocals, groovy guitar riffs, and energetic drumming, channeling introspective moods and a passion for experimental soundscapes.
Tragic made its mark on the Romanian underground scene with its debut album Cronos (2014). Years of musical development and artistic refinement followed, both in clubs and at festivals, culminating in their second full-length album, Mirrors (2019)—a heavy, bitter release drawing influences from doom, sludge, and post-metal, inspired by the depths of human tragedy.
Their latest release, Salt of the Earth (2022), their first instrumental album, serves as an ode to humanity in all its light and darkness.
In 2024, Tragic returns with a new lineup and records a live audio-video performance at their March 3 concert alongside Swiss band Hubris. The processed material will be released as a live album in spring 2025, available both physically and online.
Current lineup:
- Laura Brat (vocals, synth)
- Octavian Trică (guitar)
- Adrian Iosif (bass)
- Tudor Sabău (drums)

Umbersun – doom/death metal, Romania
In 2018, Flaviu Roșca (keys, formerly of Descend into Despair) and Doru Cailean (guitar, formerly of Whispering Woods) began a studio project based on a shared vision deeply rooted in doom metal. Their strong collaboration laid the foundation for a demo album, marking the genesis of what would later become Umbersun.
The band expanded with István Vlădăreanu (Genune, formerly of Whispering Woods and Illusion of Control) on vocals and bass, Mihai A. Martin on guitar, and Sergiu Petrică on drums. Their diverse musical influences and individual artistic identities fused into a sound that blends melancholic doom, death, black, and symphonic metal.
Umbersun’s debut album, Endless Winter Nights, was independently produced and released in August 2024. Mixed by Alexander Backlund and mastered by Tony Lindgren at the renowned Fascination Street Studios—known for working with many acclaimed artists—the album features seven compositions spanning over an hour. It takes listeners on a journey through the depths of depression and anxiety, metaphorically encapsulated in the cold embrace of winter. The title track serves as the emotional core of the record.
Notably, two of the album’s songs feature guest vocals from Andrada Hofmeister (Symphress, Maesün), whose delicate voice adds depth to the album’s emotional landscape.
Current lineup:
- István Vlădăreanu (vocals, bass)
- Doru Cailean (guitar)
- Mihai A. Martin (guitar)
- Flaviu Roșca (keys)
- Sergiu Petrică (drums)
