Hailing from Fayetteville, Arkansas, Ghost Hollow continues to push the boundaries of blackened sludge and doom metal with their forthcoming release, Examinations of the Heart. Slated for release on February 8th, 2025, the album promises to deliver a masterful blend of spellbinding melodies, crushing riffs, and haunting vocal harmonies that evoke both darkness and melancholy.

Fans of Thou, Pallbearer, and Këkht Aräkh will find much to love in the trio’s unique sound, which fuses the oppressive weight of sludge metal with the chilling atmospherics of black metal. Also, alongside touches of death metal and hardcore.

The band—featuring Sabin Hice on guitar and vocals, Carter Bradley on bass and vocals, and Mason Gills on drums—has honed their craft into a powerful sonic experience! Indeed, one that resonates with both the heart and the soul. Examinations of the Heart delves deeply into themes of anguish, introspection, and catharsis. Furthermore it showcases Ghost Hollow’s ability to conjure raw emotion through their music.

This album follows the band’s critically acclaimed previous release, the debut album Ghost Hollow, and solidifies their reputation as one of the most compelling acts in the blackened sludge/doom genre. Keep an eye on these guys, as they are up to relentless sonic devastation!
