South African black metal band Mithras Crowned released their debut EP Hymns of the Hierophant on July 16th, 2024. However, to give a taste of what’s to come, the band dropped the single Ritual Madness on July 1st.
About the band
Mithras Crowned is a black metal band hailing from South Africa and Greece. With over a decade of experience, both as a band and as individual musicians, they’ve honed their craft and are now poised to break into the European market.
In the spirit of ancient eastern legions, Mithras Crowned channels a force of raw fury and madness, carrying on the sacred rites of Mithras through the art of black metal. Through the telling of archaic epics and the crafting of sinister melodies, they seek to restore the great Mediator to his rightful place.
Originating from the southern tip of Africa, their live performances are liturgical ceremonies that invoke the mysteries of the ancient cult. The band continues the esoteric traditions of the mystagogues, ensuring that Mithras is once again crowned in glory.
