German death/black/doom metal band Zeit from Leipzig, Saxony released a new EP, Grollwerfer, on May 3rd, via 357 Records. With Grollwerfer (translated as “grudge thrower”), Zeit explores the depths of death metal. The EP features four classic songs dressed in torn battle vests and steeped in filth. Drawing inspiration from Warhammer 40k, Grollwerfer is a relentless weapon that unleashes fury upon its enemies. Zeit reimagines four of their classic tracks in a death metal style, influenced by bands like Bolt Thrower, Illdisposed, Kataklysm, and Obituary.

Produced at Studio 357 and released through 357 Records, this EP embodies Zeit‘s DIY ethos, granting them complete artistic freedom. Grollwerfer is available as 50 limited-edition tapes in six colors and digitally on Bandcamp.

Biography:
Formed in 2010, Zeit debuted with a self-titled demo, followed by three EPs: Wintersturm (q2013), Trümmer (2015), and Gram (2016). Their first album, Konvergenz, came out in 2017. In 2018, they released the Null EP, which slowed two older tracks to a funeral doom pace. Their second album, Drangsal, came out in 2019, and the grind-punk release Betonkrebs followed in 2021. In 2023, they released their third full-length album, Ohnmacht, which straddled sludge, doom, death, and black metal. In 2024, Zeit ventures into the world of death metal with the release of Grollwerfer.
