Fresh from their 2024 West Coast tour, Abhoria, known for their dystopian blackened death metal, presents Between the Strains. It’s a standalone 7”/digital single with an accompanying montage video. The release marks the debut of rhythm guitarist Theo Romeo (Necrosophik Abyss), who joined in 2023. Zack Ohren was the one in charge with mixing and mastering.
The single features a blastbeat-driven black metal track, epitomizing Abhoria‘s relentless sound. The B-side, Monument Impermanent, leans more towards progressive death metal, offering a glimpse into the band’s future direction.
Limited 7” copies and super-limited CDs, including a bonus cover of Ghost Dance by Death Cult, is available on the Abhoria Bandcamp page and at live shows. The band’s second album, Depths, released in January through Prosthetic Records, earned critical acclaim for its intense melodic flourishes and cohesive, dynamic songwriting. Now focused on their third album, the band promises their most diverse and complex work yet… While also planning the next leg of their Depths tour.
