If it is November, we all know what that means – it is the time for The Sinister Feast. This year, the first day of November is signed in blood as the date of the festival, and the place of choice is The Alte Schl8hof Wels, Austria. Indeed, this venue will once again draw all seekers of atmospheric, ambient, and depressive black metal into its shadowed halls. “Once a place of slaughter, now the stage for The Sinister Feast”, as the announcement goes. And not long ago, we found out who plays when.

Who Are We Meeting, and at What Time?
This time, the bill looks like this: Dragged Into Sunlight, blackened death/doom metal straight from the United Kingdom, Kall, depressive black metal/rock from Sweden [Lifelover set ahead, full of promises], Eldamar, atmospheric/ambient black metal from Norway. They are reinforced by Merrimack, black metal from France, Severoth, ambient/atmospheric black metal from Ukraine, Nel Buio, black metal/darkwave from Italy, and VRDRBR, black metal from Germany – a gathering of forces for an evening steeped in darkness.

One more insight since we’re talking about whens… this year’s edition lands on a very special day. All Saints’ Day is celebrated in many countries, a holiday traditionally dedicated to remembering the deceased. And something about that seems just right for The Sinister Feast.
To all who have claimed their place, we will meet on the floor of the Alte Schl8hof, where the echoes of metal and darkness will bind us. Bring your courage – and your reckoning.
