The depressive/post-black metal act Hangover in Minsk, now stirring attention across Poland, lifted the veil on the video for “Farewell”, the opening track from their first album “Party Is Over”. Shaped through the lens of Braindead Dreamer, an ally in gloom and vision alike, the video was premiered on Atmospheric Black Metal Albums and gathered over 1,500 views in a single day.

The Sound of Letting Go
“Farewell” stands as one of the album’s emotional pillars – a composition built on sombre reflection and quiet release. It carries a powerful message, and the video serves to emphasise it even more. There’s something old school in its production – something that takes you back to the days when bands like Apati, Lifelover, and Psychonaut 4 were carving their mark into the mental map of DSBM listeners.
In a recent interview, vocalist Nokt spoke about the song’s origins:
“The first idea was a «farewell to drinking». Some of us tried to stop drinking, but the song turned out too beautiful to waste on a silly topic like beer. So I wrote serious lyrics.
We have farewells for so many people – loved ones, friends, colleagues. When we emigrated, it was also a farewell to our homeland, our relatives, our past. Sometimes it’s even a farewell to ourselves, when we realise we’ve changed”.
The Man Behind the Production
Behind the visuals stands Braindead Dreamer, an independent artist and long-time friend of the band. His vision amplifies the song’s atmosphere with subtle, deliberate imagery – a slow descent through memory and distance.
He is also known for his work with other black metal acts, such as Seclorum Ornament, and Abies. With Seclorum Ornament, he crafted the eerie artwork for “The Last Sorceress” [2024], capturing the band’s dark essence in intricate detail. For Abies, he designed the band logo, a stark emblem that mirrors the bleak elegance of their sound. His touch turns sound into vision, letting darkness take shape without mercy.
