ECR.LINF’s debut album “Belluaires” bursts onto the scene with a forceful presence that immediately demands attention. The French collective’s foray into post-black metal is both audacious and profoundly atmospheric, setting a new standard in the genre. This is, indeed, the “last desperate cry of a rotten humanity”!

From the moment I pressed “play”, I was drawn into the intense world of “Belluaires”. The album opens with “Le Désespoir Du Prophète”, a track that wraps you in its dark, captivating embrace. The blend of searing guitar riffs and haunting atmospheric elements creates a captivating introduction that sets the tone for the journey ahead. ECR.LINF’s ability to merge raw aggression with melodic undertones is nothing short of mesmerizing. As the album unfolds, each track offers a new layer of complexity. “Tribunal De L’âme” charges forward with a fusion of hardcore and black metal, its rhythmic aggression interspersed with melodic hooks that kept me engaged from start to finish. The seamless integration of atmospheric electronic elements enhances the track’s emotional depth, illustrating the group’s knack for creating immersive soundscapes. Building on this atmospheric richness, “La Danse Des Crânes” stands out with its hellish waltz, melding darkness and beauty in a way that felt both exhilarating and haunting. Tracks like “Valetaille” and “Feu Pâle” are prime examples of ECR.LINF’s ability to intertwine deeply personal lyrics with sweeping, atmospheric soundscapes, pulling me further into their intricate and immersive sonic realm with every play.

What truly stood out to me was how “Belluaires” revealed new facets with each listen. The album’s structure and its rich, layered compositions offered a rewarding experience that grew more compelling over time. ECR.LINF has created a debut that not only challenges conventional genre boundaries but also invites deep, personal exploration.

Released on March 22th, 2024, “Belluaires” is available now through My Kingdom Music in digital, CD, and vinyl formats. For anyone looking to experience the cutting edge of post-black metal, this album is a must-listen.
