Amorphis, Soilwork & Jinjer gig in Bucharest

Amorphis, Soilwork and Jinjer will play at Arenele Romane on the 22nd of January in a METALHEAD organized event. Opening act will be the band Nailed to Obscurity. Until the 5th of January, tickets can be purchased at a special price!

The finns from Amorphis are returning to Bucharest on the 22nd of January at Arenele Romane (heated tent), to promote their latest album entitled “Queen of Time”, but to also play tracks that made the band famous over the years. Formed in 1990, the finnish band had a rapid ascension in the international metal scene, their initial style of playing being death metal, but with time they have changed their style and evolved into a progressive melodic death metal band.

Armothis have returned with their 13th studio album after a 3 year break. The album “Queen of Time” was released on the 18th of May 2018 and marks the return of bass guitar player Olli Pekka Laine, the bands first bass guitar player. For this album, the band collaborated with Chrigel from Eluveitie, but also with Anneke van Griesbergen.

Soilwork are from Sweden and have been in the metal scene since 1995. During this time, they have released 10 studio albums, the most recent one being “The Ride Majestic (2015).

Along the years, artists like Dirk Verbeuren have been part of the band, who currently is the drummer for Megadeth and Daniel Atonsson, former bass guitar player for the band Dark Tranquility.

Soilwork’s lineup is:

Jinjer are returning to Bucharest after their last show alongside Arch Enemy. The band formed in 2010 when Tatiana Shmailyuk became the vocalist of the band. Shortly after their formation, the band received the title of best metal band from the Ukraine. With influences such as lamb of God, Pantera, Gojira, Killswitch Engage, Death and Chimaira, Jinjer approach an intelligent mix of progressive and groove metal, together with elements from funk, reggae and jazz. Totally dedicated to the music they make, the Ukrainians from Jinjer already released 2 studio albums, the most recent one being “King of Everything”, which was released under the Napalm Records sigil. Romania is a place of nostalgia for the band, since it was one of the first countries where their work was appreciated internationally.
The show’s opening act will be the german band Nailed to Obscurity, a band who has been active since 2005 and has released 3 studio albums to date. Their style of playing metal is categorizes as being melodic doom metal. The most recent studio release is entiled “King Delusion” (2017).
