Ukraine’s atmospheric black metal band, Labyrinthus Stellarum, releases new single and lyric video for Ravenous Planet.

About the the single

The song Ravenous Planet is one of the most progressive and complex songs by Labyrinthus Stellarum. The band created the initial demo for the track in 2021, even before the band actually came to existence, and was an ambient/new age composition. And only in 2024 did the demo begin its transformation into a full-fledged Labyrinthus Stellarum song. The song tells the story of a space expedition in search of a new habitable planet. But the planet the expedition arrives on, hoping to become their new home, turns out to be a trap inhabited by a swarm of creatures with a collective mind. The heroes of the song fight the creatures, realizing that they are doomed.

About the new album

Ravenous Planet is the first single from the next album Rift in Reality, which will be released in early 2025. The new album will be even more experimental and diverse than the previous one. It will include both epic melodic tracks and heavy and aggressive ones. The album will also feature a bit more clean vocals than previous releases. Mark Cooper, known for his work with Rings of Saturn and Brand of Sacrifice, designed the album’s cover.

About the band

Labyrinthus Stellarum is a cosmic black metal band from Odesa, founded in 2021 by vocalist and songwriter Oleksandr Andronati and guitarist Oleksandr Kostetskyi. Later, a second guitarist joined, Oleksandr Andronati’s brother, Misha. In 2023, they released their debut album Tales of the Void, which gained recognition for its blend of atmospheric black metal with elements of electronic music and cosmic-themed lyrics. Shortly after the album’s release, Oleksandr Kostetskyi left the band, and since then, Labyrinthus Stellarum has continued as a duo of the two brothers.

Their second album, Vortex of the Worlds, came out in April 6th, 2024, solidifying Labyrinthus Stellarum’s place in the cosmic black metal scene alongside bands like Darkspace, Mesarthim, and Vorga. Despite their short existence, the band has performed with iconic Ukrainian black metal acts such as White Ward, and Colotyphus.
