It is time for Polish black metal. And it is time for Mgła to return to Romania. Albums such as “Exercises in Futility” and “With Hearts Toward None” have found their way onto countless playlists, and Mgła will now be part of the line-up for the 2027 edition of Rockstadt Fest, which will take place between 26 and 30 July, in Ghimbav.

Mgła started out in the Kraków underground in 2000. Revolving around themes of misanthropy, nihilism and pessimism, their compositions first found their place on the “Crushing the Holy Trinity” split, released in 2005 alongside Clandestine Blaze, Deathspell Omega, Musta Surma, Stabat Mater and Exordium.
A year later, they issued their first EPs, “Presence” and “Mdłości”, which received increased attention from fans of the genre. The year 2007 saw the release of their third EP, “Further Down the Nest”, while 2008 marked the year in which they announced the first full-length album, “Groza”.
In 2012, Mgła released “With Hearts Toward None”, followed in 2013 by the “Presence/Power and Will” compilation. 2015 brought “Exercises in Futility”, while 2019 saw the launch of “Age of Excuse”.
Even in 2025, the members of the band did not leave us without material, releasing the single “World Without Us”. The song, which was not included on the album “Exercises in Futility”, was eventually issued to mark its tenth anniversary. According to the group, the drums and guitars were recorded back in 2015, but the track was subsequently put aside, waiting for a more suitable moment to be completed. That moment came in the summer of 2025, when bass and vocals were added.
