Czech progressive black metal band Heiden announced the release of their tenth full-length album, “Cma”, scheduled for 24 April 2026 through Epidemie Records. The record will be available in digital, CD, and vinyl formats and continues the path opened by the group’s 2022 album “Andzjel”, as stated by Grand Sounds PR.
Three years after that release, the band returned with a work that extends its narrative further into shadow. According to the group, the music once again moves through the landscape of the Carpathian Mountains, not merely as scenery but as an inner terrain where memory, guilt, and fear converge. Across nine compositions, the album draws upon images of remote mountain villages where time appears suspended, while human stories unfold in places where the true borders no longer run across the land, but through the people themselves.

A First Glimpse: “Temnoplodec”
The first single from the album, “Temnoplodec”, was released together with an official music video, offering an initial glimpse into the atmosphere surrounding the new material.
The composition introduced the album’s tense musical language, where hypnotic riffs and urgent vocal passages create a sense of movement through an unforgiving landscape, as stated by Heiden. Rather than providing release, the music sustains a quiet pressure, echoing the themes that run throughout the record, according to the label.
Shadows of the Borderlands
Emerging from the black metal underground more than two decades ago, Heiden have long resisted the limits of strict genre boundaries. Their music has remained closely tied to place, language, and personal experience, while still allowing space for experimentation and silence.
With “Cma”, the band turned toward stories rooted in the borderlands of occupied Czechoslovakia, reflecting on a time when fear and hatred slowly eroded the fragile fabric of everyday life. According to the group, the album does not attempt to offer comfort or triumph. Instead, it dwells in reflection, sorrow, and quiet dread, presenting darkness not as an aesthetic gesture but as a condition inseparable from human existence.
