Italian progressive/thrash/death metal act Jester Majesty announced December 4th as international release date for their debut album. Titled Infinite Measure, Finite Existence, the ten track album will come out via Xtreem Music.
One more voyage of exploration, one more combination of chemicals, one more step into the forbidden darkness… one more ‘immoral’ experiment. There is no right or wrong here on this frontier, there is only the light of knowledge, the thrill of discovery and the grasping of power. Warnings are just challenges to courage and laws only bind those too weak to break them. Is the essence of our humanity really so great a price to pay when the reward is the ultimate understanding of everything? Is it not time to transcend the natural order, the chains of conscience that have bound us and leave this world behind…in ruins if that is what must be…
About the band
A union of two prodigious talents – Alessandro Gargivolo and Erymanthon Seth – Jester Majesty creates music to fire the imagination and astound the senses. Formed in early 2024 by Alessandro Gargivolo when his musical ambitions began to extend into territories beyond the remit of his band, thrashers Alchemist, a first EP Plains Of Heaven appeared later that year. Erymanthon Seth (Apocalypse) contributed to the Plains Of Heaven EP and a full partnership with Alessandro Gargivolo soon developed. Now, the breathtaking results of that partnership can reveal their brilliance… Indeed, a majestic concept album of stunning progressive metal that deals with mankind’s insatiable thirst for knowledge and ongoing battle against the limitations that restrain him – Infinite Measure, Finite Existence…
About the debut album
The heavy, insistent and rhythmic introduction of Zero-Point Collapse opens the door to an album that defies any attempt to provide a simple summation of its contents. The huge, shifting riffs and elaborate leads of Echoes Of π sublimely illustrate the blend of outstanding musicianship and songcraft which lies at the heart of the Jester Majesty sound. The individual abilities at play open up vast possibilities for the songs, creating music that finds a limit only through the scope of the imagination.
Each song is unique within itself… Yet, they are all intrinsically connected – working wonderfully as individual pieces but staggeringly so as a collective whole. Indeed, it’s an exhilarating experience to ride the storm-tossed seas of Married To The Masterplan, with so much to absorb, so much to hear… Layer upon layer of sound, with the powerful chorus an anchor in the tumult. Infinite Measure, Finite Existence is constantly evolving and changing forms and the individual songs are microcosms of that process, metamorphosising as they progress, pools mirroring the tides of an ocean.
