Croatian pagan black metal force Winterfront has returned from the shadows to unveil their long-awaited second full-length album. Titled XIII Chants For The Underworld the thirteen track album came out on June 25th, via Werewolf Promotion.
Formed in 2010 by Ivan Grga and Toni “Tertt” Jakus, Winterfront is famous for their frostbitten riffs, raw atmosphere, and lyrical focus on war, paganism, and the eternal inner struggle. Building upon the haunting legacy of their 2014 debut Northwinds, their latest offering marks a bold evolution in both sound and spirit.
With production handled by the band themselves and mixing duties by Ivan Jurić at Sound Kitchen Studio from Kaštela, the album weaves longer, more immersive compositions that pay homage to the cold winds of black metal’s Second Wave while carving a uniquely Eastern European path. Fans of Taake, Gorgoroth, and Immortal will find a new ritual worth repeating.
XIII Chants For The Underworld is a testament to Winterfront’s matured vision—a journey into the frozen void where ancient rites and modern despair converge in sound.
