Kim and 1853 Announce Ritualmord’s First Full-Length: “This Is Not Lifelover”

The members of Ritualmord (Kim Carlsson and 1853) have spoken. Their first full-length, "This Is Not Lifelover", is officially on the way. The cover is unveiled, the tracklist laid bare—this creation is taking shape. Unbound by genre, the album marks a new chapter, one built on years of evolution, sacrifice, and refusal to conform.

Boundless and Ever-Evolving

Ritualmord does not adhere to a single form. With “This Is Not Lifelover”, the members continue their restless exploration—pulling from neofolk’s acoustic echoes, industrial’s mechanical pulse, and the sprawling depths of post-rock. Some might label it post-black metal in time, but definitions have never mattered here. This is not just a sound; it is a practice, a manifestation through Kim and 1853, a vessel for something greater. What began as a place for discarded compositions from Lifelover and Hypothermia has since become its own entity—shifting, expanding, yet always anchored in the same uncompromising spirit.

A Fire Reignited

Ritualmord began in 2007 as a space for songs that didn’t fit within Lifelover’s world. For years, it lay dormant until 2013, when the project took a sharp turn. Then, in 2020, after a long period of individual pursuits, the flame was reignited. Last year, Kim and 1853 kept themselves busy with the release of “Dit ruset tar oss, an EP that explored new realms with its combination of black metal, post-punk, and atmospheric sounds.

In the lead-up to “This Is Not Lifelover”, they revealed “Spår” on December 24, 2024, followed by “Stonerpop” on December 31, 2024, and “Inifrån och ut” on January 16, 2025.

With the full album now on the horizon, Ritualmord stands once more—ever-evolving, ever-creating, bound by nothing. Their first full-length will be released on March 8, 2025, in digital, CD, and double vinyl formats.
