Atmospheric black metal band Bloodbark released their second album on January 3rd, via Northern Silence Productions. Titled Sacred Sound of Solitude, the five track full-length comes seven long years after the debut album, Bonebranches.
Bloodbark remains a mystery. Its origins and members are unknown, but its purpose is clear: to let nature be the storyteller, the artist, and the creator. Since the release of Bonebranches in 2018, the project has embraced this ethos, crafting music where human presence fades, and winter takes the lead.
With Sacred Sound of Solitude, Bloodbark continues to explore this vision. Thus, the album captures the essence of snow-covered landscapes, the hum of forests, and the thunder of avalanches, all intertwined with majestic melodies. Indeed, it tells stories of spirits, elemental battles, and the dissolution of life into the eternal embrace of nature.
Staying true to its roots in atmospheric black metal, the music evolves with a crisper, colder edge, deepening its connection to the majestic side of the genre. Accompanied by stunning winter photography and artwork created within the project, the album reflects the same unfiltered connection to the natural world.
