Italian old-school death metal band Dark Reflection will release their debut EP, in January, 2025. Titled Under the Sign of Vlad Tepes, the upcoming musical material will come out via Pest Records! To give a taste of what’s to come the band dropped the single The Forest of Impaled on December 10th.
About the Italian band, Dark Reflection
Originally, the band started in 2022 as the one-man project of the guitarist and main songwriter Riccardo Silla. Indeed, the purpose was to go back to the roots of the death metal sound, by combining the aggressiveness of Florida death metal with the viciousness of Swedish death metal. In the early 2023, Dark Reflection became a full-lineup band when the drummer Lorenzo Domizi (ex Emperial Abyss, ex Bothers), the growler and producer Mauro “Ulag” Mancinelli (Deathcvlt, In Lacrimaes et Dolor, OsseltioN) and the guitarist Mike Rossi “The Unholy” (Scala Mercalli) joined the ranks.
Soon afterwards, the band entered the Ulag Zone of Monte San Giusto (Italy) to record their debut EP called Under the Sign of Vlad Țepeș. Furthermore, it is important to mention that the debut EP is also an historical and conceptual album. Thus, it regards the multiple engagements lead by Vlad the Impaler against the Ottomans, in order to regain the independence of his country.
