Avantgarde/black metal experimentalists Schammasch, hailing from Switzerland, released their highly anticipated fifth full-length album on October 25th. Titled The Maldoror Chants: Old Ocean, the six track new release came out via Prosthetic Records, showcasing the band’s mastery in blending sonic onslaught with dark atmosphere and melodic passages.

The new full-length album The Maldoror Chants: Old Ocean has come five years after the previously released full-length, Hearts of No Light. However, Old Ocean is the successor to Schammasch‘s 2017 release The Maldoror Chants: Hermaphrodite and the second chapter in a series of releases based on the groundbreaking 19th century surrealist novel Les Chants de Maldoror, by visionary writer Isidore Ducasse, better known as Comte de Lautréamont.

More to the point, the Swiss band’s new masterpiece includes the previously released singles They Have Found Their Master and Image of the Infinite, featuring Norwegian multi-instrumentalist Kathrine Shepard/Sylvaine .

Tracklist:
1. Crystal Waves
2. A Somber Mystery
3. Your Waters Are Bitter

4. They Have Found Their Master

5. Image of the Infinite
