Torem invites listeners into a mystical world where ancient instruments meet hypnotic invocations. The album takes you on a unique journey that is part of the band’s new trilogy, dedicated to the three worlds of their country’s cosmology.
Torem is sung in the ancient Khanty language (a native Siberian tribe) and Old Norse (Old Icelandic), and the title means “The Great Sky” in the Finno-Ugric languages of Siberia’s indigenous peoples – the Great Sky where the ancestors dwell and where the souls of humans and animals are reborn in the form of birds. This is also the place where the shaman makes his first journey to learn the wisdom of the Great Spirit.
