Swedish death metal band Nekrodawn will release their crushing debut album, Sculpted By Torture, on May 31st, 2024, via Legions Of Bane. Formed in 2022 by death metal veteran Jonas Kjellgren, Nekrodawn was created as an outlet for crafting old-school death metal riffage with a more brutal, crustier, and blacker vein, deviating from the standard norms of OSDM. The band’s influences include Bolt Thrower, Crypt Of Kerberos, Demilich, Morbid Angel, Entombed, Mortician, and Vader… However, their sound remains unique.
In late 2023, the complete lineup finalized, featuring members and ex-members from legendary bands such as Interment, Centinex, Grave, The Crown, and Hypocrisy. The band recorded Sculpted By Torture, at Black Lounge Studios with Jonas Kjellgren during October and November 2023.
The first single from the album, Origin Of Terror, came out on January 5th, 2024, accompanied by a lyric video created by Andrea Mantelli. This fast and brutal track highlighted the band’s prowess and received critical acclaims. The second single, Sacred Termination, out on March 22nd, 2024, was their first song ever written. It showcases a slower, doomier style, made of 100% Swedish steel.
