Prepare to be engulfed in darkness as Hellcommander, the black metal force from Sweden, released their highly anticipated EP Year of the Goat on February 14th. Thus, with influences from Mayhem, Myronath, and Khaospath, Hellcommander‘s latest offering promises to be a relentless onslaught of satanic black metal magic.

A mysterious figure, known for his involvement in Draugûl, Khaospath, Myronath, Dodskold, and Helvitnir leads the band. Which means that Hellcommander is no stranger to the darkest depths of the metal underground. Also, Year of the Goat sees the artist delving even deeper into the abyss… Indeed, conjuring haunting melodies and savage aggression that will leave listeners spellbound.

The album has already receiving positive feedback from critics who have reviewed it, all praising Hellcommander‘s undeniable vision and excellent accomplishment. Musikreviews.de declares, “Vargblod makes everything right on his solo debut  Year of the Goat  and presents oppressive black metal between frost and fire, which does not want to deny the original spirit of the genre.”

Blessed Altar Zine proclaims, “A new evil and dark project has emerged from the depths of the Northern countries, the land of cold, snow and forests… And of course, land of Black Metal.”

Year of the Goat is a proof of Hellcommander‘s proficiency in the genre. It shows their aptitude to generate the feeling of fear and desolation. At the same time, it delivers a never-ending sonic aggression.
