Wacken Metal Battle Romania proudly announced the jury for the finals! Thus, Lenti Chiriac, Doru Rocker Ionescu, Bogdan Ștefan Trîmbaciu, Mihai Razvan Mugescu and Michael Ahlin are the ones in charge with choosing the winner of this year’s competition… The first one to take place in Bucharest, at Quantic club.
However, there is one more jury “member” to be seriously considered! The audience! Indeed, the audience is the sixth member of the jury, so don’t miss the chance to support your favorite band! Furthermore, since we’ve mentioned supporting the favorite band, let’s take a brief moment to refresh the memory, on who’s competing on Friday, May 10th at Quantic, in alphabetical order.
The Bands:
Doomsday Astronaut
Doomsday Astronaut is an instrumental progressive metal band from Sibiu. The guitarist Waqas Ahmed founded the band in February 2022. Only a few month later, in the fall of the same year, the band won the Grand Prize at Posada Rock (2022).
Fittonia
Fittonia is an alternative metal band from Cluj-Napoca. The band is a dynamic entity onstage that pushes the boundaries between the musical styles, blending heavy riffs with the sensitivity found in Indie and pop. Blending different styles and subgenres with multiple layers and also dark lyrical themes, Fittonia is a fresh yet intricate group, trying to make themselves heard… Also, to leave a distinctive mark!
June Turns Black
June Turns Black is impossible to label, as they innovatively blend eletronicore, screamo and djent. The band was founded in 2023, in Bucharest, and has been very active ever since. They put a lot of emotion and feelings into their music, dedicating themselves to creating a universe of intensely personal lyrics and emotional depth. However it is not only the message that leaves a burnt mark on the brains… But also the powerful vocal performance, which echoes long after the lights on the stage are gone!
Reverse The Moment
Reverse the Moment is a metalcore band from Oradea. The band came to life in 2016 and after four years they released the EP Empty Words. Then, in 2022 the band dropped the debut album, The Victim. Their latest release is the single Parasthesia which received acclaim from the metalcore enthusiasts.
Warhymn
Warhymn is an occult black metal band from Bucharest. There is a special atmosphere which they create and a distinctive sound combining powerful guitar riffs with melodic solos which prove pure virtuosity. Moreover, both vocal performances combine dramatism and rage and send shivers down the spine. While the drums…let’s just say the drums unleash chaos! The atmospheric sound highlights the depth of the lyrical themes… free will, the origin of sin, the origins of our world… and more.
