Black metal band Beenkerver, from The Netherlands, will release their second full-length album on March 1st, via Vendetta Records. Therefore, titled De Rode Weduwe, the seven track album will come out in Digital, LP, CD and Cassette formats.
De Rode Weduwe is Beenkerver ‘s second full-length album, following Ontaard which came out in 2022. It narrates the story of Sophia, the red widow, through seven chapters, combining black metal with haunting melodies. The album reflects a notable evolution in the band’s songwriting and production. Spenser Morris produced the album, which features artwork by Bram Bruyneel. Moreover, the material includes an exclusive bonus track Twee Wolven in its CD version.
Beenkerver ‘s music, deeply rooted in 90’s black metal and atmospheric overtones, explores dark themes and emotions. Furthermore, it features influences from Dutch folklore and weather. The project opposes fascism, racism, gender-based discrimination, and supports animal rights.
