Melodic death metal band Xenocracy from Austria released the debut album, titled Impermanence via Kvlt und Kaos Productions. This 52 minute full length, which consists of twelve songs, came out on December 1st. All music and lyrics are the result of the band’s creative genius. However, Impermanence was produced and mixed by Janini Pizzicato while Janini Pizzicato and Alex Zylla dealt with the mastering.
The album represents a philosophical exploration of human existence, suffering, and the ephemeral nature of life. Each of the 12 tracks on the album presents a narrative rich in literary and cultural references, such as Vanitas influenced by German Baroque poetry and Fireflies inspired by a Japanese war film. The structure of Impermanence reflects its thematic concept, with Overture and Reprise symbolizing the cyclical nature of existence. Produced with an environmentally conscious approach, the CD comes in a Digi sleeve format with an 8-page booklet, enhancing the listening experience with visual storytelling.
The album features additional artists like Alex Zylla (Fireflies) and Esther Hu (Ephemeral). Impermanence is a compelling journey for fans of Scar Symmetry, At the Gates, and Soilwork, blending heavy melodic soundscapes with profound thematic content.
Prior to the album’s release, about one month ago, Xenocracy dropped the video for one of the singles, At The Gates.
