The Bucharest-based avant-garde metal band FRIG comes with a new line of merchandise along with the bonus song Aconcagua (without return) for the first time in Romania.

On the first of September, the Bucharest avant-garde-progressive-space metal band FRIG, released for the upcoming season a new line of  merchandise together with the first DVD of their career in a QR greeting card format, and also the bonus song Aconcagua (without return).

The live-online material filmed in the special rehearsal room found on the band’s DVD and released last year on the media channels also  includes the single “Australe” – a collaboration with Sergio Ponti (Drumeo, drums transcriber for Jethro Tull) the bonus track song appeared  for the first time last season in the UK on BBC Shropshire presented by the media astronomer – Pete Williamson (Astro Radio) and can be  watched on the band’s YouTube channel:

The futuristic premiere of the song Aconcagua (without return) completes the cycle of frequencies on the ep genOm and also makes  reference to the unique concept-project of the band for reforestation of deforested areas but not limiting to, inspired by the history of the fall  of the Nazca civilization 1500 years ago due to the massive deforestation of Huarango trees, this species of tree was an ecological necessity  by desert areas fertilizing the soil and bringing beneficial moisture to this microclimate, according to research conducted at Cambridge  University by researcher David Beresford-Jones. The gradual disappearance of these trees also represents the El Nino effect in AD 600,  whose strong winds and catastrophic floods on agriculture deserted the area and also led to the disappearance of the community. The title of the song combined with the myth of Icarus-the flight, continues the story of the Nazca hieroglyphs seen as an astral map on the highest peak of the Andes mountains of which the ocean plateau Nazca takes part. Aconcagua has an altitude of 6959 m and the area has a popular  astronomical interest due to the extremely low light pollution conducive to the location of astronomical observatories for space research such as the Collowara Observatory in the vicinity of the city of Andacollo. Aconcagua is a symbol without return in the microcosmic journey of vast space.

The band FRIG was founded in 2015 and even from the first steps proved the emphasis on quality in artistic expression both musically and  visually, their instrumental-avant-garde approach being very cognitive and captivating, a music with many layers and special elements that  those passionate about astronomy (macrocosm) or genetics (microcosm) will instantly recognize. In addition to the EP “genOm”, released in  2020, the band has also a captivating debut album, entitled “Vid Nocturn”(Nocturnal Void), which was released in 2018. It can be listened to  by accessing the following link:
