Last week, on May 15, 2020, the Bucharest quartet MBP officially released the first single from the future studio material. Titled ‘Silence’, the single is presented as a video made by the young director Ana Breten, well received in the online, with a number of over 5000 views in the first five days since the official launch via the YouTube platform.
Originally released as Mihai Barbu Project, at the end of 2017, the band MBP debuted with the album ‘A Lifetime Consequence‘, an ambitious material containing ten songs of about 80 minutes, initially digitally released through the official Bandcamp and later as a double digipack self-produced CD, presented in full both in live appearances and in several radio shows, but unfortunately insufficiently promoted to reach the collective consciousness of the public.
Starting with the second half of 2019, the band began a long-term collaboration with one of the oldest booking and management agencies in the Romanian metal area, Axa Valaha Productions, held several concerts in Bucharest and in the country, along with several notable bands, the first tangible result of this collaboration being the newly released single ‘Silence‘. The four musicians, rebranded under the title MBP, recorded the new release at the beginning of 2020, in Studio 148, together with one of the most known and appreciated producers in the local rock/metal area, Marius Costache and the executive producer Mihai ‘Coro’ Caravețeanu (Axa Valaha Productions), the result being three songs, with a total time of approximately 20 minutes, to be released both digitally and in the form of an EP digipack, by the end of 2020.
