“The Sixpounder”, one of the most popular bands from Poland, will be performing for the first in Romania at the Rock’N Iasi Festival.
The band formed in 2008 in Wroclaw with the purpose of creating a potent mix of groove metal, metalcore and melodic death metal. “The Sixpounder” can praise itself for being the first metal band to be signed by Universal Music Group Poland after the vocalist Filip Salapa took part in the first edition of the show “The Voice of Poland”. As a result of the signing, UMG Poland launched the debut of “The Sixpounder” entitled “Going to Hell? Permission Granted!”.
The second self-entitled studio release of the band, was launched in 2013 and stands out through the presence of Peter from Vader, of Vogg from Decapitated and of Jacek Hiro from Sceptic. Two years ago the band released “True to Yourself”, which was mixed and mastered by Daniel Bergstrand, known for his collaborations with Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth, In Flames, Meshuggah, Decapitated and Soilwork. The band’s 3 studio released have been enthusiastically received by both fans and press alike.
The band has toured through Europe along the years with bands such as Vader, Decapitated and Acid Drinkers and have opened shows for Motorhead, Suicide Silence, Bullet for My Valentine, Mastodon, Skindred, At the Gates, Moonspell, Soilwork and many others; they have also made appearances at festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Woodstock 2014 and 2017 and other festivals as well.
In 2018 the band released 3 tracks for the soundtrack of the polish comedy “Gotowi na wszystko Exterminator”. The movie presents the story of a metal band from a small polish city and was released in Poland and a few other neighboring countries.
“The Sixpounder” will play for the first time in Romania at the Rock’N Iasi Festival on the 20th of May.
