The iconic Norwegian black metal band 1349 needs no presentation, only to ask where and when! Thus, a few months after releasing their eighth album, The Wolf & the King (October 4th via Season of Mist), the band announced the East-European Tour, with two stops in Romania: on May 17th at Quantic, in Bucharest and on May 18th at /FormSpace, in Cluj-Napoca.
Obviously, 1349 is not an ordinary name, it is a band created for one purpose: to carry forward the legacy of black metal! Their latest release, the full-length The Wolf & the King is a disk fueled precisely by primordial energy. The same kind which characterized extreme metal in its golden days and also Norwegian black metal in the 90s. The title derives from a famous allegory: a wolf devours a king then the wolf is devoured by flames and a new king rises from the askes.
“It’s an album with plenty of references to the infinity symbol. We worked together to create the best black metal album we can produce at this point. This is our mutual purpose. We are a band on an eternal mission…” Ravn stated.
Furthermore, these two shows will have a special guest: The Ruins Of Beverast. An alias of Alexander von Meillenwald, German soloist and multi-instrumentalist also known for the projects Graupel, Heemat, Nagelfar, Abusus and Kermania. Founded in 2003 with the release of the demo The Furious Waves Of Damnation, followed shortly by the first disc, Unlock The Shrine, The Ruins Of Beverast produce a non-usual style in which black metal is influenced by various adventurous musical genres. However, all this blend is intentionally rudimentary, especially when it comes to recording compositions.
The opening bands are Vitriol and Sarcator.
The events are organized by Rockstadt Extreme Fest and tickets are already available on their official site.
