Katakomba

Swedish death metal destroyers Katakomba return this Friday, October 10th, with their feral new album The Second Death via Majestic Mountain Records, and it’s an absolute weapon. A relentless onslaught of riffs, rage, and razor-sharp intensity, The Second Death takes their HM-2-driven sound into even darker, rawer territory. It’s loud, filthy, and unapologetically Swedish death metal, the kind that feels like it crawled straight out of a crypt with a chainsaw.

Following up their crushing 2022 debut, Katakomba doubles down on their HM-2–driven assault with an even rawer and more feral collection of songs revel in raw underground energy and pure intensity.

Speaking on the record, Katakomba share:

The Second Death is the natural follow up to our debut album Katakomba. This record revels on raw energy and has more of a punk atmosphere than our earlier material. We’re happy to announce it and even more excited that Majestic Mountain Records will help us release it.”

About the new album

A relentless onslaught of riffs, rage, and razor-sharp intensity, The Second Death pushes Katakomba’s sound into a rawer, more feral realm. Rooted in Sweden’s dark heritage and the uncompromising legacy of death metal, The Second Death emerges louder, bolder, and more unapologetic than anything Katakomba has unleashed before. With buzzsaw riffs, thunderous rhythms, and nihilistic themes, the band continue to carve their place in the Swedish death metal domain.

Emerging from the Swedish underground, Katakomba has built a reputation on their ferocious HM-2 guitar tone, combining classic death metal with modern heaviness and a sharp edge of punk-fueled nihilism. Their 2022 debut established them as one of the most promising names in the new wave of Swedish death metal. Now, with The Second Death, they return even more dangerous, ready to tear through speakers worldwide.
