Argentinian black metal band Nekyros announced the release of their debut album, Nyxian Path, on March 7th via Northern Silence Productions. What is more, the band unveiled the first single, In The Shores Of Time, giving listeners a first glimpse into the album’s dark and atmospheric sound.
Nyxian Path, the upcoming album by Nekyros, is a raw and immersive take on black metal, built on atmospheric melodies and relentless intensity. Written and recorded in Buenos Aires between 2020 and 2022, the album was created with live performance in mind, focusing on capturing the energy of the moment rather than chasing perfection. Indeed, every take feels urgent and unfiltered, giving the album a visceral, almost unpredictable quality.
Lyrically, Nyxian Path tells the story of a protagonist unknowingly crossing into the afterlife, facing visions of desolation and the unknown. Thus, the album delves into themes of time slipping away, the search for meaning in an empty world, and the inevitability of death, all told through vivid, symbolic storytelling. Moreover, melodies connect with each track, guiding the listener through a dark and introspective journey.
Nekyros came to life from a need to create something more direct, raw, and aggressive. While it shares roots with Los Males del Mundo, it took on a life of its own—a project that refuses to be anything but what it is: intense, honest, and deeply atmospheric.
