Sylvaine, together with her live band, will perform at ARTmania Festival 2025 on July 25th. Norwegian multi-instrumentalist Kathrine Shepard‘s project is recognized for its unique fusion of atmospheric black metal, shoegaze and post-rock, exploring the contrasts between light and darkness, serenity and chaos, spirituality and humanity. Each performance offers an intense and immersive experience to the audience.
Sylvaine joins the festival’s impressive lineup, alongside Dream Theater, pioneers of progressive metal, and Sivert Høyem (former lead singer of the band Madrugada), the Norwegian artist with unmistakable vocals and soulful melodies. Sylvaine‘s music reflects the fragile balance between the opposing forces of human existence. Either performing with his live band or solo, Sylvaine creates a profound and emotional musical experience, offering the audience a temporary escape from the everyday world.
Kathrine Shepard is a composer, recording engineer, producer and musician on all instruments. Her first album, made with the support of her father, Stephen Shepard, and renowned engineers such as Nick Terry and Ray Staff, was well received by critics. It brought her important collaborations such as the one with Alcest. The album Wistful solidified her position on the international music scene. Moreover, Atoms Aligned, Coming Undone earned a nomination for Best Metal Album at the Norwegian Spellemannprisen awards in 2018. Indeed, Kathrine Shepard was the first female nominee at this category.
The fourth album, Nova, recorded in 2021 and released in 2022, marked a new chapter in the artist’s career. Subsequent tours in North America and Europe brought further acclaim for the artist and her band.
