Recent Highlights from Unjoy — Art & Ritualia

Preceding “Avstånd”, Kim’s label released two remarkable projects on November 11, 2024.

  • Consider Suicide’s “Gudalik II”: The second in a series of four albums, “Gudalik II” translates to “divine” or “the corpse of God”. Recorded in 2019 with Déhà, the album draws inspiration from the Swedish landscapes of Västra Götaland, delivering an immersive and meditative soundscape.

  • Ritualmord’s “Dit ruset tar oss”: Created alongside 1853, another Lifelover alumnus, this intriguing EP spans two years of collaboration (2022–2024). It marks a bold return for Kim and reinforces his knack for crafting evocative, genre-defying works.

Lifelover’s Legacy and Kim’s Future Plans

As 2025 approaches, Kim has even bigger plans. He will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Lifelover with Kall, the group often described as Lifelover’s spiritual successor. At Prophecy Fest, in Germany, Kall will not only perform their original material but also present a special Lifelover set, echoing Kim’s tribute to the band at the same festival in 2015.

Lifelover, known for its innovative blend of black metal and atmospheric elements, remains a cornerstone of the genre. Although the band dissolved after the tragic passing of co-founder Jonas “B” Bergqvist in 2011, its influence endures globally.
