EVIG NATT

Norwegian gothic doom icons Evig Natt return with a new single Sorrow My World, a dive into sonic darkness and emotional turmoil. Get ready for an all-consuming descent into the depths of sorrow and survival. The track, accompanied by a stunning video, is the second taste of what’s to come on the band’s upcoming album, Vaketimen.

About the new song

The track Sorrow My World deals with grief and how it can be all-consuming, eating you up from the inside to the point of no return. With no hope of relief, there’s no way out but through. The video for Sorrow My World portrays a girl who is consumed by a demon. She’s been marked by its hands and battling its hold over her. She traps the demon by drawing a pentagram of protection around her, finally releasing it from her body.

About the band

Evig Natt’s music is aggressive but subtle, noisy yet beautiful, a maelstrom of symphonic darkness that could only be described as orchestral gothic doom metal. From the unholy metal grounds of Karmøy, west Norway, this band follows in the footsteps of Einherjer and Enslaved, featuring ex-band members of both. Initially, it started as a studio project in 2003, due to vocalist Kirsten Jørgensen and bassist Stein Sund. Soon after that, they recruited drummer Harald Magne Revheim. In 2006 Evig Natt signed with Omvina Records, and released their highly acclaimed debut album I Am Silence in 2007.

The band added Oskar Naley on vocals, Ruben Osnes, and Arne Marton Tangjerd on guitars for the recording of their darker and heavier second offering. After signing with Black Bards in 2009, Darkland came out to raving reviews in April 2010. Furthermore, Evig Natt released their third self-titled album on March 19th, 2016. Obviously, off the back of that, they got to tour countries such as Belgium and Japan. The band’s sound is unique, blending everything from progressive metal to black metal. This is a band to keep an eye out for!

Evig Natt is:

Kirsten Jørgensen: Vocals
Stein Sund: Vocals and bass
