Finnish symphonic doom metal band Infirmum will release their second full-length, From The Depths I Cried on September 27th. To give a taste of what’s to come, the band dropped the single Burn on August 29th.
Formed in early 2019, the Finnish symphonic doom metal band Infirmum has approached the genre in a unique and complex way. With a sound that explores aspects of classical music combined with the traditional weight and melancholy of doom, they released their debut album Walls of Sorrow in 2020. Only two years later, the EP The Great Unknown followed. In January 2023, they released the single Sleep of Reason, which featured a music video. With the departure of vocalist Anna Rose in 2023, Brazilian singer Sabine Blodwin joined the band, bringing a new perspective from a different culture.
Infirmum‘s music today can be described as profound and conflicted, exploring the darkest sides of human emotions. Moreover, it dives into the depths of madness, pain, sickness, and death, while still finding brief moments of hope. So, the band takes the listeners on an atmospheric journey through the darkest corners of the human soul. Combining beauty and ferocity, their compositions are rich in textures and nuances with strong, reflective lyrics.
The current lineup includes Sabine Blodwin (formerly of Moonwitch, Draconian Opera, Pettalom) as vocalist. Also, Taka Eliel (Sanctuary of Hate) as vocalist and bassist, Erna Siikavirta (formerly in Lordi, Children of Bodom as session keyboardist, Sinergy as session keyboardist, Arthemesia and Deathlike Silence) as keyboardist, Joonas Siikavirta (Begrim) as guitarist, Timo Solonen (Grain of Pain) as guitarist, Hanna-Leena “Hanska” (Mourning Wood) as drummer, and Elya as cellist.
