Celebrating 25 years in the metal scene, Battlesword is set to release their fifth full-length album, (XX)V – Of Tales And Tragedies. This album is a tribute to the band’s quarter-century journey, blending their signature melodic death metal sound with new elements that add depth and variety to the tracks. The title (XX)V nods both to the band’s anniversary and the number of albums they have released. Meanwhile, Of Tales And Tragedies reflects the themes of their music and the experiences they’ve gathered over the years.

Recorded and mixed at the Big Easy Studio in Hennef by Michael “Freio” Haas, and mastered by Dan Swanö, the album showcases a range of styles… Indeed, from doom-laden passages to intense, relentless blasts. For the first time in Battlesword ‘s history, the lineup remained unchanged during the album’s creation. This allowed the band to pay homage to their legacy with the track Brethren Of The Sword. Fans can expect an album that remains true to the essence of melodic death metal, while offering fresh and engaging compositions.
