“An Iconic Taste of Demise” is a ten-piece orchestral/symphonic black metal gem spanning over fifty-five minutes. It’s hard to believe that all this music comes from one person, Lord Esgaroth, with the help of the drummer Michiel Van der Pilcht from the death metal band Pestilence. Lord Esgaroth’s ability to compose intricate orchestral sections and other instrumental and vocal parts is nothing short of devilish artistry. Each track on the album is a harmonious blend of powerful emotions and flawless execution. The meticulous attention to detail is evident in every note, from the crystal-clear production to the seamless integration of instruments and vocals. The compositions balance lyrics, melodies, and instrumentation perfectly, creating an immersive experience that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

The opening track, “Idolum”, sets the stage with sinister violins, eerie keyboards, and chilling choirs, creating an atmosphere straight from the depths of hell. It’s a masterful start that grabs your attention and doesn’t let go. Diving deeper into the album, “Soul Devourer” and the remaining eight tracks continue this dark, immersive journey. The album concludes with “Cruelty in Love and Fear”, an eight-minute orchestral and symphonic instrumental that provides the perfect closure to “An Iconic Taste of Demise”. It’s a fitting end to a dark and mesmerizing journey.
