You might have already caught it from the title, this isn’t your usual album review, mostly because i’m heavily biased when it comes to one of the most surprising bands i’ve seen up to date. Serrabulho played at Rockstadt Extreme Fest 2022, the same edition where i achieved one of my biggest dreams and played the same festival with my former band.
That’s where we met and i’d like to call it love at first sigh…t. Now, when you talk about grindcore and especially the party kind, you either really love it or profoundly hate it. It’s the way i see things and i assume i might be wrong, but i’m pretty sure there’s no half-arsed love involved in it. And if you decide on hating stuff, do it better.
At this point Serrabulho have released their 4th solo album (there’s also a split with Shoryuken and a compilation hiding in their bio) over a band career that started with Ass Troubles in 2013. Not the best way to start a band… These albums cover profound subjects such as diarrhea, pissing contests, pubic hair, funny Guns’n Roses covers and love. Who even sings about love nowadays?

Now, where was i? Was it piss, or love? Oh, both of them. Piss & Love is quite the album! The first song off of it, Erosvision, is either a mockery on the famous musical competition, or on themselves. I’d rather think about the latter, because Eurovision really needs no help in being a joke. Important songs to listen to: all of them. Any album is supposed to be a journey, and you really don’t want to listen to Pissachu and then, Love Parade. It’s the other way around!
Hardcore Love, the outro, is what absolutely smashed me. The 4 minutes that end the album are just stunning and i know for sure they will be there at future shows. There’s as much as i find myself able to say about Piss or Love, because it won’t really matter. I really love it and i love the guys in this band. Carlos, Guilhermino and Ivan are really invested into the band and i can’t wait to see them in about a week at Rockstadt Extreme Fest 2024. Because they are back, and this time they’re proud of being cows.
What i can leave you with is the

Serrabulho’s album covers are stupendously colorful, i remember the two cassettes they had at Rockstadt, and the full print was available if you had them together. This one has the boys drawing a pentagram with their piss. Love it.
