On the 22th of May, Belgian metal band Ursa released Primordial Crown, their first single with vocals from Jan Buekers (Sons Of A Wanted Man). After previous instrumental singles in 2023 and the announcement of their new lineup earlier this year, this single marked the beginning of a new chapter for the band.
For this progressive metal band, this new song Primordial Crown is the most outspoken post-metal song in their current discography.
A combination of intricate drums and epic guitar lines remind of bands like The Ocean, Cult Of Luna and Hippotraktor. Shortly after the release of Primordial Crown on all popular streaming services Ursa also released a video to promote the single.
About Ursa
Ursa is a progressive metal 5-piece from Limburg, Belgium, combining gut-punching riffs with whirling time signature changes, atmospheric melodies and roaring vocals. The wide range of influences spanning from modern progressive metal to post-rock and post-metal delivers an ever-surprising cocktail listeners are sure never to forget.
The band sprung into existence as an instrumental solo-endeavor by ex-Horses Blew Fire frontman Alexandre Belli. Then, he was quickly joined by his old bandmates Staf Wouters on bass and Niels Valkeners on drums. As well as Luciano Monsegue on guitars. The last puzzle-piece came in 2023, when Jan Buekers (ex-Sons of a Wanted Man) added his vocals to Ursa‘s sonic arsenal.
