Death/thrash metal band Disologist from Mexico will release a new EP Roots Of Human Decay, on July 27th. This blistering EP is a short but raw and uncompromising vision of this young, up-and-coming band’s take on modern thrash metal. A thick rhythm section, impenetrable foundation, and fast paced riffs come together to showcase a sound that is more extreme than many of their contemporaries. Yet, it firmly exemplifies the genre.
Originally formed under the moniker Invoker in 2017, the Mexico City based band released their debut EP Elegy In Pain in 2019. During the pandemic, the band dedicated themselves to composing and planning their next release. Thus, they chose to focus on both environmental and political themes for what would become Roots Of Human Decay.
However, the upcoming EP Roots Of Human Decay is a desperate call for action. Indeed, a call for action against humans to reduce the negative impact they are having on our planet. The high octane thrash and fervent songwriting reflects the alarming consequences that may end with an uninhabitable planet.
To give a taste of what they are cooking, the Mexican band released Borrowed Earth, the first single of the EP, on November 4th, last year. Previously, the band had dropped the guitar playthrough and the second single, Bleeding Justice (feat. Erick Lugo) in December 2022.
