American black metal band Malum Mortuus released their first full-length album on March 3rd. Titled …and They Cried With the Voices of Death, the eight track debut album came out both in CD and digital formats.
This Tolkien-themed epic features over 25 minutes of original recordings, along with three cover songs by Summoning and the Italian duo Nazgûl. The album’s artwork, created by Jenglot Hitam, with additional art by Warhead Art for the CD edition, perfectly encapsulates the album’s dark and mystical themes.
Despite the addition of keyboards and cover songs, Malum Mortuus maintains their guitar-centric approach. Indeed, the band delivers steadfast arrangements and seamlessly blending cover tracks with original compositions. Fans of Summoning, Nazgûl, Thy Light, Drudkh, Godkiller, and Caladan Brood will find much to appreciate in this release.
