Macocha

Black metal/crust band Macocha from Czech Republic released their debut EP on June 21st, independently. Titled the same as the band, the seven track material came out only in digital format, for now, at least.

About the band

Macocha, a metal band based in Blansko, Czech Republic, delivers heavy riffs and a blackened atmosphere. The band took its name from an iconic landmark in the Moravian Karst—the largest abyss in Europe, shrouded in dark and mysterious folklore. Formed in the spring of 2022, they released their debut EP in 2024. The band recorded the EP at the legendary Kohlekeller Studios (Aborted, Powerwolf, Kanonenfieber, Benighted, etc.).

Macocha brings a fresh spin on the classic HM-2 chainsaw sound, blending raw aggression with haunting melodies. Their lyrics delve into themes of death, futility, hopelessness, human morality, and the search for life’s meaning, providing listeners with a powerful, introspective experience.

Tracklist:

1. Everlasting Dust
2. Into The Abyss
3. Gallows
4. Relics
5. Nameless Grave
6. Dagger
7. Teeth Of The Beast
